What is the foreign exchange rate?

The Foreign currency transaction is converted to Canadian dollars at Mastercard International’s rate on the date the merchant finalizes the transaction.  This may not be the same rate as on the date of the transaction, which may result in the final amount being higher or lower than the amount shown on the day the transaction was made.

The conversion rate that Mastercard will use to process a refund transaction may not be the same as the conversion rate in effect on the date the original transaction was processed. Therefore, the amount refunded to your card may be different than the amount of the original transaction.
